The EM Acoustics EMS-81X Outdoor is a compact, high-output two-way passive reflex-loaded loudspeaker designed for applications where greater throw, higher SPL and precise pattern control are required from a discreet enclosure, with the added assurance of outdoor-ready construction. Finished in durable black, it is well suited to theatres, live venues, corporate AV, houses of worship, hospitality spaces and demanding installed sound systems, including semi-exposed and outdoor locations.

The EMS-81X combines an 8” neodymium low-frequency driver with a 1” exit neodymium high-frequency compression driver, loaded onto a rotatable constant-directivity waveguide for flexible horizontal or vertical deployment. This configuration delivers increased headroom and projection compared to smaller formats, while maintaining excellent vocal intelligibility and musical clarity. Performance is rated at approximately 75 Hz – 20 kHz (±3 dB) with a maximum peak SPL of around 126 dB, supported by 250 W RMS / 500 W programme power handling and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms.

As part of the Outdoor Range, cabinets are finished as standard in a highly durable two-part polyurethane paint, with stainless-steel grilles and fixings and treated cone surfaces for enhanced resistance to moisture, corrosion and long-term environmental exposure. To ensure a clean, discreet installation, the enclosure can be adapted to your exact requirements, including the removal of handles, pole mounts or unnecessary rigging points once your specification is confirmed. Connection options are equally flexible, with a choice of standard NL4, single NLT4MP connector, or a weather-sealed gland with a fixed 2 m loudspeaker cable, allowing seamless integration into your system design. Compact yet powerful, the EMS-81X Outdoor offers serious output, control and reliability for professional installed and outdoor sound applications.
