The EM Acoustics EMS-81X is a compact, high-output two-way passive reflex-loaded loudspeaker designed for applications where greater throw, higher SPL and precise pattern control are required from a discreet enclosure. Finished in white, it is ideal for theatres, corporate AV, houses of worship, hospitality venues and fixed installations where performance must be matched by a clean, unobtrusive appearance.

The EMS-81X combines an 8” neodymium low-frequency driver with a 1” exit neodymium high-frequency compression driver, loaded onto a rotatable constant-directivity waveguide for flexible horizontal or vertical deployment. This configuration delivers increased headroom and projection compared to smaller formats, while maintaining excellent vocal intelligibility and musical clarity. Performance is rated at approximately 75 Hz – 20 kHz (±3 dB) with a maximum peak SPL of around 126 dB, supported by 250 W RMS / 500 W programme power handling and a nominal impedance of 8 ohms.

Housed in a rigid, multi-angled birch plywood enclosure, the EMS-81X offers a more controlled and natural sound than plastic alternatives and integrates easily into both visible and discreet installations. The passive design allows full optimisation via external amplification and DSP, making the EMS-81X a powerful yet elegant solution for professional sound systems where output, control and aesthetics all matter.
